Senior Cost Accountant

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced, collaborative, and results-oriented individual to join our
team as a Senior Cost Accountant. The ideal candidate will have experience with cost
accounting and US GAAP requirements, handling increased operational complexity and
transaction volumes, and supporting the configuration of the ERP System.
Under the Controller's direction, this individual will be an integral member of the accounting
team. This individual will assist with the accounting close and reporting process, interface with
external auditors, and be assigned daily accounting functions. This candidate will seek a long-
term commitment, with strong potential to expand the scope of the position.

Responsibilities

  • The Senior Cost Accountant will be responsible for significant areas of the accounting
    and ERP system functions.
  • Cash application and AP payments
  • Ownership and maintenance of the fixed asset system
  • Assist with Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual close processes, including account reconciliations
  • State and local tax filing (sales and property taxes)
  • Job costing analysis
  • Prepare reports and interface with external auditors
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls per company policies
  • Reporting of monthly and quarterly actuals to the parent company’s consolidation system

Required Skills / Experience

  • BS degree in accounting
  • Experience with US GAAP requirements
  • Minimum 5 years, including cost and general accounting functions
  • Small to mid-sized company experience with a preferred experience working in a manufacturing
    environment
  • Strong knowledge of financial and managerial accounting, with strong attention to detail, ERP System experience (SAP, Oracle, M1) – GL, cost accounting, Order to Cash
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
